This Week's Tasting
Every week at Dairymaids we select six cheeses to include in our free cheese tasting. Whenever we are open, we are tasting cheese. We stock over 150 cheeses, so if these 6 don’t please you, we will find you the cheeses that do.
This week's cheeses are:
From Jasper Hill Cellars in Vermont, Willoughby, is a double creme brie with a washed rind that adds subtle nutty and meaty notes to the rich and creamy cheese.
Made from raw goat's milk and aged, San Isidro comes from Caprino Royale in Waco, Texas and exhibits a sweet and complex flavor.
San Andreas, a raw sheep's milk cheese from Bellwether Farms in Sonoma County styled after Italian Pecorino but uniquely American.
From Award-winning cheesemaker at Holland's Family Cheese in Wisconsin, Marieke Smoked Gouda follows the traditional Dutch recipe and has a subtle and pleasant smokey flavor.
A new release from Roelli Cheese in Wisconsin, Roelli Haus Select is an aged cheddar with a decadent and delicious flavor you don't want to end.
And finally, Chiriboga Blue, a cheese with a love story! An Ecuadorian cheesemaker fell in love with a Bavarian woman and moved to Germany where he makes this a fudgy and rich Bavarian-style blue cheese.
This week's wine pairing is Tempranillo from Pedernales Cellars in Stonewall, Texas. We are also featuringa new flavor from Confituras in Austin, Texas- Satsuma Orange Blossom Jelly.
On Wednesdays, we sample a wine, cider or beer as well and all wine and beer is 10% off. We sample beverages on Saturdays as well.
If a cheese sells out, the tasting plate will change mid-week.
Our hours are Tuesday thru Friday 10 to 6, Saturday 10 to 4, and Sunday 11 to 4.
See you at the shop!
